All the best Barbie movie press tour looks (before the strike).

All the Barbies and Kens slayed and then sashayed away (as they should) to support the SAG AFTRA Union strike.

When Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling announced the official kick off of the Barbie movie press tour, we soon after found out the full list of cities the cast was visiting. In addition to LA and New York, the cast planned to visit the following cities:

  • Toronto, Canada

  • Sydney, Australia

  • Seoul, South Korea

  • Mexico City, Mexico

  • London, England

  • Berlin, Germany (oh, uh, the cast didn’t make it to this one)

All was going as planned until the strike. The only two cities that didn’t make the cut was New York and Berlin. Not that they needed it— any of it, really. The movie has already been causing a massive stir on the internet.

Speaking of which, if you can’t beat em, join em.

Today, we’re going to look at my favorite lewks from the press tour. For funsies, I’ve added a small call out to a look or two that made me scratch my head.

Here we go!

AUSTRALIA

For the first two stops of the tour, the cast split up. While the Kens were in Toronto, the Barbies were living it up, in style, in Australia. Swipe through the photos from the Sydney press tour stop in the gallery.

CANADA

TORONTO // JUNE 28

This stop got a cute little name, Kenada. And their interviewers really leaned in to trying to get answers about how one can improve their “kenergy”. Only Ryan Gosling, Simu Liu and Mani Gosling (Ryan’s sister) were in attendance for the press tour stop in Toronto, both of the actors are Canadian. Check out the trio’s looks in the Toronto gallery.

If all the fashion of this press tour is inspiring a little desire to grab some pink and Barbie official things within you— don’t you worry. I got you, and so does Barbie. Check out my curated list of official Barbie collabs. I’m sure (out of the many, many collabs) there’s something in here that’ll catch your eye!

Happy Birthday, Margot! While there, she celebrated her birthday. The cast were also gifted hanbok-style pieces that matched their outfits. Check out the Seoul press tour gallery.

MEXICO

Alright, if you’ve scrolled down this far, congrats, you’ve found my least favorite stop on the tour (fashion-wise). I just didn’t like the multi-colored dress Margot wore on one of the days! Couldn’t get behind it! I mean I get the reference to the doll, but meh. However, I absolutely loved America’s black leather skirt outfit. Chef’s kiss. Not Barbie-core, but chef’s kiss. Check out the short Mexico press tour stop gallery.

LOS ANGELES

I think this is everyone’s favorite— or at least top two as far as looks go for the tour! Check out the LA Barbie premiere gallery and all the stars in attendance.

ENGLAND

LONDON // JULY 12

London was special for two reasons. It’s another stop where a lot of celebrities came out to show their support (and their lewks!!). And, it’s the last stop before the strike was announced and the tour shut down. So, let’s have a look at the last fashion show before the movie hits theaters, shall we? Check out the London press tour stop gallery.

And now, we wait. As of publishing this article, we are 3 days out from this movie being released in theaters and FINALLY getting over this hump that is the anticipation for this movie. We will finally find out if all this hype has been worth it.

What do you think?
