My process, ideology and thoughts on Voiceover and Voice Acting work— in a Q&A format.

How would you describe your unique voice style, and what makes it engaging for ad campaigns?

My unique voice style for ad campaigns is by default, charming, charismatic and friendly— not overly salesy, unless directed. But if directed to sound otherwise, I’m able to quickly adapt and do additional reads in a tone and pace that suites the needs of my clients.

How do you tailor your voice to suit the tone and style of different types of ad content?

By adhering and adapting to what is needed. I’ll either go back to previous work and try on a few different tones I’ve done in the past, or go solely off the asks from the client.

How do you handle feedback and direction from the marketing team or clients regarding your voiceover work?

I’m always very appreciative of feedback, that’s the only way we truly grow and deliver the best work. I welcome it with open arms and always ask for it when delivering work. If there’s any way that I can improve, I want to take those steps and deliver the best reads (and their most desired reads) for my clients.

Have you ever had to make adjustments to your voice-over style based on client preferences?

Yes, every client is going to want something a little bit different and that’s where adaptability and experience with different voice styles comes into play.

How do you approach voice-over projects with varied tones, such as serious, humorous, or informative?

I really connect with the character, even outside of voice acting, there is a character and audience involved. Stepping into that headspace will help you read in the tone that is required.

How do you manage your time to meet tight deadlines for voiceover projects?

I use a project management system, Jira, to manage my work and have structured days of dedicated recording and editing time.

What feedback have you received on your voice-over work in the past?

It’s all been very positive, I’ve been very successful in my space and really enjoy what I do, which I’m certain plays a role in my success and energy within my space and work.

Here’s a recent review: Jasmine is incredibly talented, dedicated, and professional. She gave 100% effort and skill into making my series come to life, and any director would be lucky to have her as a part of their project!

How do you approach understanding and interpreting a script for a voice-over project?

I do both cold and warm reads, if on the phone with the director or client, ask them what they had in mind, read the brief, practice before recording.

What are your long-term goals as a voice-over artist, and how do you plan to achieve them?

My long-term goals include doing this every day of my life (vacations aside) I really do love what I do, I feel like I’m already achieving my goals. Working for my dream clients and for causes that I’m passionate about are within my goals as well.

How do you envision growing and evolving in the field of voice-over for ad campaigns?

By continuing to do work that inspires, informs those in need and changes lives!
